Social Work Magic for Documentation

Go to socialworkmagic.com and click Sign Up or Get Started.

1. Enter your email and create a password
2. Select your role (Clinical Social Worker, LCSW, MSW, etc.)
3. Verify your email via the confirmation link

What you should see: A dashboard with note generation options, templates, and clinical support tools.

Troubleshooting: If you don't receive the confirmation email, check your spam folder.

Before generating notes, tell Social Work Magic about your work setting so its output matches your style.

1. Click Settings or Profile in the top navigation
2. Select your work setting (hospital, outpatient clinic, hospice, etc.)
3. Choose your preferred note format (SOAP, DAP, narrative)
4. Set your typical patient population if given the option

What you should see: Your preferences saved; the note generator will now produce output formatted for your setting.

Click Progress Note from the main dashboard.

1. A form will appear with structured fields — fill in the session details: session type, presenting issues, interventions used, and plan
2. You do NOT need to write in full sentences — bullet points and keywords work fine
3. Click Generate (or equivalent button)
4. The AI produces a full progress note in your chosen format

What you should see: A 150-300 word progress note in professional clinical language, matching the format you selected.

Troubleshooting: If the output doesn't match your format, go back to Settings and verify your format preference is saved correctly.

Read through the generated note carefully before using it.

1. Check that clinical facts match your actual assessment
2. Edit any phrasing that doesn't sound like you or doesn't reflect the session accurately
3. Add any patient-specific details that weren't captured in your input
4. Copy the final note text → open Epic → navigate to your progress note → paste and finalize

What you should see: A note that reads as professionally written, ready for chart entry with minor tweaks.
